My V7 Classics has arrived.

Just a quick 10-minute listening to it, the first thing that hit me is that the whole sound spectrum is shifted towards the warmer/darker side. Everything sounds so relax. Feels like i can listen to this all day long without feeling fatigue at all.

Might also be a placebo effect as i was so excited for this V7C.

So far i really love the sound of it. Will listen to them in more detail tonight after work.

I agree with you, V7C sound is very pleasant/warm/musical/romantic but at the same time it has wide scene presentation, great separation and quite enough details, so it does not sound boring. I also really like it.

I don't have the V7C, only the V7V. After 2 days of intensive listening both naked and with the UFEEL buffer stacked. I can confidently say, the UFEEL buffers bring forward the mids by quite a bit. Other than that. The V7V is a very technical and reference sounding opamp. Boring even. The buffer colours the sound into something fun. Maybe something like the V7C, but I have not heard the V7C, so this is just conjecture. I don't notice any degradation in sound due to the buffers. The big stage and air of the V7V remain.

The only thing is V6 and V7 is too big, can't close the lids. Otherwise, I would highly consider.

If you don't intend to transport it around all the time. Standing on the door at an angle works very well. Easier to change the opamps too.

same here, I might get V5i Dual in the future.

Go with V6, SS3602, FM255 or JL1973 those are better than V5i-D. Also you can close the lid.

I've been doing some testing of the NewClassD Ultimate Edition opamps today, using the ROHM DAC module. In comparison to the SS3602s, the NewClassDs add more depth and body without overpowering any frequency. Stage is wider and deeper, although still lacking a little height. Instrument separation and vocal layering is excellent (e.g. backing vocals on Dreams by Fleetwood Mac). I haven't compared to the SS2590s or V7Cs yet and am out of time today, but the NewClassDs are worth a try if you can find them.

I will add that I'm finding the ROHM DAC needs a fair amount of burn-in time. Also, the FIR2 filter is much nicer than FIR1. I don't know what each does, but I prefer the former!
