I typically despise all in one solutions and walked in with a bit of doubt, but I walked away really impressed with the Aperio. Whatever they've built into their amp/dac unit clearly is not a bottleneck to its performance.
Also agree, the price is still frustrating lol. I'm keeping an eye out for one used, and would gladly sell some gear for it.

I remember a few years ago when it was introduced for the first time. The price appeared on the Audio Affair website as £12k, then I thought to myself, meh, I'm not convinced if it is worth even auditioning (didn't like the Sonoma 1). The next day the price got corrected to £20k as the £12k was simply a typo (or great discount from current perspective). I wonder what would have happened, had I pressed the buy button while at 12k. lol

That is absurd.
Even at the introductory price it is nice, but in totality does not warrant price increase in comparison to other possibilities.
Package size is an achievement similar to portables, however limited by DAC is invariably wack.
Cross-posting to get the word out about our local meet. Danny McKinney, @SageM , with RAAL-requisite / RAAL 1995, will be joining us at our Denver head-fi meet on June 22. Between him and attendees, we will have an Immanis, Magna, SR1a/b, CA-1a, VM-1a, and HSA-1b available for listening. Danny also plans to bring a Feliks Envy. And he is going to try to bring the new SAEQ Armageddon, and Solaja Audio's soon-to-be-released EL34 (VM1a successor) and 300B amps (both). There is even a slim chance he will be able to bring a Trafomatic Primavera. It should be an epic meet and we are offering a few spots for out-of-towners who are willing to travel for a chance to demo this gear in a quiet environment. If that's you, let us know here: https://www.head-fi.org/threads/colorado-head-fi-meet-june-22-2024.972574/

I've driven my CA-1a off a portable Topping G5 fine and Immanis is much more efficient. Was is the best I ever heard the CA-1a? No, but it drove it to acceptable levels.
Actually now I think about it Alex has recently acquired an iBasso DX320 Max and used it when he was in Singapore. He said it sounded ok with Immanis using the interface and with the volume a couple of clicks below max. A search through the thread will reveal what adaptor Alex used to connect the DAP.
